We received a bundle of knives to test and review. If you look at surveys of outdoorsmen, the top brand name is Buck. The knives we used and tested got a workout on camping trips, hunting trips and in the kitchen. Each knife offers the user a solid gripping position, Buck calls it an Ergonomic design we refer to it a safety feature. Think of it as a piston grip on a cutting blade. The Hunter Small Game Select, the Pro, and Avid offer the indented finger hold. Buck incorporates the best steel, but we strongly suggest keeping a wet stone with you. When heavy and strenuous cutting arrives in the form of a big game animal, you want that stone. Buck holds an edge extremely well; a wet stone will assure you of keeping it.
