B&P Shotgun Shells

Highlights

We normally do not put a review together with competitors of like product but we will on this occation. This last fall our goal, pattern chokes from Carlson and Briley. We headed for the gun club with everything we needed accept a location to shoot. They have a range for patterning but they were not quite sure where, so much for our big plans.

In addition to attempting to pattern the chokes, our plans included using shotgun shells from (Kent) Gamebore and B&P. That did not happen but we did use the shells for waterfowl. Our review on the shotgun shells from the field, mixed at best. I personally shot both (Kent) Gamebore and B&P in 4, 5, and 6 shot and my impression was and is they were too light for ducks. I changed to heavier shot as the birds got spooky but early season these should be plenty for ducks. I have used this size from other manufacturers and did not have a problem. On one occation duck hunting with Gamebore’s Bio-Wad™ one of then disintegrated and a shower of wad contents filled the air, and I missed the duck. The claim from Gamebore the wad begins to break down after the shot. I don’t doubt it but this particular one broke down in my barrel. We were disappointed we could not shoot and pattern before we hit the field. We stopped shooting the shells and with any luck, we can pattern for next season.

We did test one choke last season Chris Stinson used the Briley Extreme Range in the Benelli SBE. He was convinced it improved his shooting. Chris is a better than average shot and on one goose hunt, he did not miss. Like the shotgun shells, we did not give the chokes the extensive testing we wanted. The experiences with the Briley Extensive Range choke both Chris and I am convinced, they work better than the shotgun shells. Unfortunately, we did not do the kind of testing that would offer a clear picture we will keep you updated.

MB Classic 12 ga. 5 Shot

A slight step up from the “MB light” version. This has the same mild recoil advantage and high-speed velocity. With the 1 1/8 ounce payload, one gets about 5% more shot in the mix.

MB Long Range 12 ga. 6 Shot

Here is a phenomenal quail and pheasant choice that actually exceeds our MB EXTRA load. To step up the performance we add an additional gram of shot and NICKEL-PLATE the pellets.

Extra Magnum 63

This is B & P’s 3.5 inch shell. One gets a 2 ¼-oz. payload of NICKEL-PLATED pellets in various shot sizes at a substantial 1170 fpc. Maximum payload for tremendous energy transfer is the advantage for this cartridge.

Baschieri & Pellagri

For over a century Baschieri and Pellagri has produced ammunitions of the highest standard. In 1989 they patented "The Gordon System," a revolutionary cartridge casing. The Gordon system improves powder combustion, reduces the physiological effects of recoil, and performs better than any other shell casing. Through their patented system, B&P has created a superior line of ammunitions that has been used to achieve impressive results. B&P is the choice of hunters, trap shooters, and is still the choice of Olympic shooters.

Simply the Best Cartridge Casing on the Market

In 1989, Baschieri & Pellagri patented the Gordon System, a revolutionary casing that was, and still is the only real breakthrough in the casing's manufacture. The Gordon System is what sets B&P above the rest. Using this casing system, B&P is able to reduce the physiological effects of recoil, providing a softer cartridge with equal performance. This is because of our innovative shock-absorbing base, which not only improves powder combustion, but also the overall ammunition performance. This circular disc, which has a wedge shape groove around its circumference upon ignition, compresses. This feature alone reduces recoil by a minimum of 10% and as a side; benefit reduces pressures throughout our 12-gauge line.

Less shock to your payload upon ignition decreases shot deformation that will lead to rounder and truer shot for better patterns. Combined with specifically tailored wads for each loading presents you the pinnacle of performance. Ask the Olympians that have used them, six Olympic Gold medals and growing. More than any other shot shell manufacturer. Reduced recoil, Superior patterns, and an edge over the competition and you will realize your dream.
