Review
Danner’s Elk Ridge™ GTX hunting boot spent last fall on my feet in deep snow that covered the rolling hills of Eastern Montana. I wore the Elk Ridge guiding Upland bird hunters and the boots were my constant companion. I did make a mistake, not enough break in, and I ended up with heel blister. You need to wear around the house and give yourself some time in the boots before you head to the fields. The Elk Ridge™ GTX is a GORE-TEX® all leather lined boot both waterproof and breathable with 400 gram Thinsulate™. After I broke in, they performed like Danner boots always have, outstanding. This was my boot for the season 30 to 35 days of guiding. In some cases, the warmest parts of my body at the end of the day were my feet. If I had broken in properly I would have no complaints but that was my own fault. The Elk Ridge™ GTX is well made, warm, waterproof, and tough.
