Gerber Metolius Fixed Blade Gut Hook Knife
Review
This big game season I tested the New Gerber Metolius Fixed Blade Gut Hook Knife. The blade along with gut hook is extremely sharp making short order of field dressing and skinning both Elk and Deer. The gut hook cut cleanly through the abdomen with little effort and without opening any of the internal organs (as it should). The knife works relatively well when capping out our elk. With a beefy 1/8” blade extending all the way through the handle, the knife is rigid with a solid feel. The handle has an ergonomic finger grip design made from high quality, durable plastic. The knife is complete with a stiff nylon sheath that has a wide flared opening that allows easy removal, and guiding it back into the sheath. Whether you are camping, hiking, or hunting, the Metolius (which is also available without the gut hook) is a versatile, lightweight, and well-balanced knife for the money.

Introducing the Metolius Fixed Blade, the technical over-achiever in the Metolius family. Its strong glass-filled, nylon handle fits comfortably and securely in your hands thanks to a soft but grippe overmold. Dig in to any task with the large blade or choke up on the blade for fine work with the extra finger grips.
