Coleman’s Retro Rechargeable Lantern impressed all our testers with its light emitting power and its long battery life. We are familiar with gas powered lanterns but this is the first rechargeable that we have tested. All came away with the same impression the Retro is a convenient and long lasting source of light. The Retro Rechargeable Family Lantern operates up to nine hours on one charge and has a built-in-nightlight; we were not convinced that the battery would stay charged in cold weather. We keep the night light on all night, switched to on as the sun broke, and saw no loss of power in 35-degree temperatures. The Retro Rechargeable has an adapter for your car lighter if you need to charge on the way to your campsite. The days of fuel-powered lanterns will soon be a distant memory with long lasting batteries and Coleman is proving it with the new Retro Rechargeable.
