Highlights

We test and review our quota of Binoculars, we are fortunate to acquire Swarovski Optics pronounced Swear-off-Ski to test and review. If more folks understood how to pronounce correctly it might strengthen additional product sales. For years I did not have a clue how to pronounce until I spoke with my contact at Swarovski. He gave me a slick way to remember, Swear-Off- Skiing, Swear-off-Ski. Hope this helps.

The SLC 42 HD 10 x 42 is a roof prism Binocular and one mechanism we noticed immediately was how fast the focus knob moves to seize the image the principal objective of any Binocular. In the case of the SLC42 HD this occurs instantly. The SLC 42 HD is a formidable Binocular 10 x 42 means the image is 10 times larger than the naked eye. The 42 is the diameter of the objective lens the larger the objective lens the more light enters. Lower magnification allows for a brighter image and the more powerful the Binocular the narrower field of view.

What we found with the Swarovski SLC 42 HD with all its capacity it still offers a crisp clear image. With HD it delivers a bright picture with no color fringe on the edges of the glass. What you get is clear detailing at long distances, along with a lightweight Binocular that focuses as fast as any we have tested. The Swarovski SLC 42 HD is a top tier Binocular and for the cost they should be. If you want the best of the best Swarovski is hard to beat for excellence. See more stats below.

THE NEW SLC 42 HD - A CLASSIC PERFECTED
HIGH-PERFORMANCE HD OPTICS

The fluoride-containing HD lenses ensure bright, high contrast images with maximum color fidelity. Enhanced special coatings support this effect. The new SLC 42 HD is also suitable for close-range observations at distances of up to 6 feet. Taken in combination, the result is a pair of reliable, high-performance binoculars that let you see nature in all its glory.

HIGH DEFINITION – NATURAL COLORS, MAXIMUM CONTRAST

Fluoride-containing HD lenses minimize the color fringing that is unavoidable with conventional types of glass. As a result, the new SLC 42 HD provides high contrast images in natural colors with razor-sharp outlines: exceptionally high quality crystal-clear images that brings you even closer to the true beauty and fascinating details found in nature.

OPTIMIZED COATING – BRILLIANT IMAGES, EVEN IN TWILIGHT

The enhanced coatings of the lenses and prisms (SWARODUR, SWAROTOP, and SWAROBRIGHT) support the effect of the HD lenses. Observe nature at its finest, even in twilight or difficult lighting conditions. The SWAROCLEAN coating on the outer surface of the lens provides an anti-stick effect, making it easier to clean away dirt such as watermarks, insect repellents, or tree resin.

LARGE FIELD OF VIEW – EVEN FOR EYEGLASS WEARERS

The SLC 42 HD stands out in comparison to other binoculars due to its larger exit pupil distance. This enables eyeglass wearers to enjoy the entire wide-angle field of view and to benefit in full from the crystal-clear images provided by the new SLC HD. The SLC 8x42 HD, for instance, gives a 408 feet field of view, providing the best overview in its class. The removable twist-in eyecups are individually adjustable in three stages.

NEW FOCUSING MECHANISM

The new SLC 42 HD not only offers excellent optical performance. The new focusing mechanism also enables particularly fast and highly precise adjustments.

COMPACT AND RUGGED

Thanks to its short, slender construction, the new SLC 42 HD fits even better in your hand. In addition, the new magnesium housing makes it significantly lighter than its predecessor – ideal for fatigue-free and precise observation, even when wearing gloves.
