The William Joseph W20 wading boot introduced itself spring of 2006. Constructed of Hypalon, a synthetic rubber resistant to chemicals, temperature extremes, and ultraviolet light, the W20 hit a high mark for innovation. The boot offers a felt sole with front and back rubber traction points, and a Velcro ankle strap. The W20 is pleasing to the eye, fits, and is comfortable with or without waders and stable, a prerequisite for good wading footwear. The W20 boot endured sixty to ninety days in and out of trout waters. We found the W20 capable of performing under all kinds of conditions, I worked them, and so did another team member who works as a full time Fly-fishing guide. We test numerous wading boots, shoes, and sandals, most if not all will last one season. The felt bottoms are the first to go on wading footwear, the W20 felt bottom has some wear, but will meet our requirement for the 2007 season.
